Your career development is a lifelong process that, whether you know it or not, actually started when you were born! There are a number of factors that influence your career development, including your interests, abilities, values, personality, background, and circumstances. Career Counseling is a process to help you to know and understand yourself and the world of work in order to make career, educational, and life decisions.
So, to help you figure out who you are and what you want out of your education, your career, and your life a Career Counseling session was held at the Bhawanipur College on 6th September for all students to understand various career fields after college. Professor Urvi Shukla, Certified Career Counsellor, organised the event at the Jubilee Hall of the college at 10:30 am. The event started after all the students were seated and Prof. Shukla introduced them to the various courses of Commerce, Arts, and Science and the sea of opportunities after that.
Prof. Shukla encouraged the students to pick a field they are interested in and to become a Master of It. In the event, the students learned about various offbeat courses such as Ethical Hacking, Candid Photography, Image Consulting App Development, Digital Marketing, Masters In Management (MIM), and many more post-graduate courses which are generally not in the dictionary of most students. Prof. Shukla informed that one should pick those areas in which one is genuinely interested and only then will one be able to succeed and make a name for themselves.
By the end of the event, the students were given opportunities to put their doubts across to Prof. Shukla. The interactive Career Workshop helped students to understand various opportunities, the latest trends, and factors that need to be considered before deciding the most suitable career path. In a very simple way, it explains the difference between planned Vs Unplanned career decisions.
The event owes its success to Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Minakshi, Coordinator of the Morning Commerce department, and Prof. Urvi Shukla, Speaker of the event, who conceptualized this interesting Career Counseling session.
