Sports has always been a form of entertainment and fun. Not to mention that it unifies people irrespective of their social or religious backgrounds as well. Sports are always meant to be played in a disciplined manner. Boxing is one such sport which displays great valour, strength, discipline, technique and obviously the spirit of sportsmanship.
On 13th and 14th of May 2022 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised an Intercollege Knockout Tournament, in which 14 renowned colleges had participated. The event had Mr. Asutosh Jha as their special guest, who is currently a student in The Bhawanipur Education Society College. He specialises in this field of sports and played a major role in the success of the event.
The event started off with a live demonstration of Chessboxing by the students of the college, acknowledging the audience with this creative blend of chess accompanied with boxing. There was a total of three rounds per match, with each round having 2 minutes. Following this the official matches begun, which heated up the atmosphere with its intensity. Zealous participants from different colleges showed their skills and dedication on the boxing ring, to which the crowd reacted enthusiastically. The first day witnessed the initial matches and the worthy qualifiers proceeded for the finalizers in the next day.
Special thanks to the Dean of the college Prof. Dilip Shahfor the event and for his valuable presence as well. The event couldn’t be such a success without him. Also, special thanks to the organiser of the event Asutosh Jha for constantly guiding the participants and motivating them, as well as his contribution.
