February 13th, 2019. Placement Hall. Shreyansh Bajoria, the City Head of Mash Projects and Santosh Singh, Certified Road safety Trainer talked about the various aspects of road safety and the likely ways to respond to emergencies.
The speakers went to great lengths to explain that in case of accidents it is the pre-aid, administered in what is termed as the “golden hour” that is of utmost importance. For done well, this aid rises the probability of the victim surviving by as much as ninety percent! Various techniques were explained by the speakers who stressed on the need to keep calm and with a cool head, take the necessary actions, keeping in mind the fact that such actions may well spell the difference between life and death for the victim.
Safety and recovery positions with the air of a dummy, various multi-media presentations as well as with physical demonstrations were shown to allay fears and create awareness.
The importance of Diagnosis, Treatment and Disposal (DTD in short) as a means to providing first aid so that the victim can be rushed for the much-needed medical support was explained to the audience in great details. The interactive manner in which the entire communication was presented, with the speakers often resorting to short quizzes to underscore points and ensure that the key facts are well retained was not only educative but also made things exciting.
Sarita Patel, the Regional Director (West Bengal) of NSS and Deepak Mondal, Youth Coordinator were also present on the occasion and spoke at length about the NSS movement, its efficacies and the increasing need for the Nation’s youth to reach out and touch the lives of those who are less fortunate, to contribute to the process of nation building.
Attending students were provided with a number of leaflets and other printed materials related to the topics aimed at empowering them further
