76th Republic Day 2025

Seventy-five years back, on the 26th of January 1950, the Constitution of Independent India came into force on this auspicious day. The day saw the birth of the Indian Republic and the installation of its first President was announced by a salute of thirty-one guns. The Bhawanipur Education Society College celebrated Republic Day on the 26th of January 2025 on the college Turf to value its importance and continue the traditions.

With everyone dressed in vibrant ethnic colours, the celebrations began at 9:30 A.M. with the welcoming of the guests with coloured uttariyas. The ceremony commenced with the National flag being unfurled with the presence of members of the Governing body of BESC present were, Chairman, Mr. Rajnikant Dani; Vice-Chairman, Mr. Miraj D Shah; Mr. Pradip Sheth, Mr. Jitendra Shah, Mrs. Nalini Parekh, Mrs. Renuka Bhat, Mr. Umesh Thakkar and the School heads. With the National flag soaring high in the sky, the National Anthem was sung melodiously, after which tri-colour balloons were released in the sky, representing a free and independent India. Taking over were the students of the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society School (ICSE) and Cadets of the BESC NCC through their neatly structured and synchronized march-past along the Turf and paying tribute to the Indian National Flag. To pay our respects to the Preamble and remind us of its values, principles and objectives; the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah read out the Preamble along with the audience who were provided with a copy of it. Following this, Chairman, Mr. Rajnikant Dani took to the stage and shared his thoughts on Republic Day and in his words, “The flag we hoisted today is the symbol of the people of India.”

Following the customs of BESC, this 76th Republic Day, BESC paid tribute to one of the youngest Indian Revolutionaries, Prafulla Chandra Chaki and remembered his valiant actions through an act presented by student thespians of the Collective of Enact. The play centred around moments when Prafulla Chandra Chaki’s bravery and selflessness contributed to India’s Independence journey. Next, the stage was occupied by students of the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society School (ICSE) who mesmerized the audience with a delightful dance performance and another performance by the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society School (ISC) students who presented a dance-drama on the Independence of India. The Bhawanipur Design Academy also participated in the celebrations and their performance included a patriotic dance number which gave the audience the spirit of nationalism.

In between the performances, Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Co-ordinator of the Department of Commerce (Morning) conducted interesting quizzes where one of the questions stated the theme of Republic Day 2025. It was interesting to know the answer which was “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas.”! Next in line was a dance performance by the Classical team of Flames Collective, where the dancers left the audience spellbound with their patriotic number, “Ae Watan, Watan Mere Aabad Rahe Tu.” The Collective of Crescendo presented a collection of songs before the audience that certainly represented Mother India and it was an absolute pleasure for the spectators.

While we celebrate Independent India, it is also important to be free from the fear of being unsafe, which can only be conquered through self-defence. and therefore, a special Combat Training demonstration was presented before the audience by Ashutosh Kumar Jha, an alumnus of BESC. Before concluding, the Rank Announcement Ceremony of the NCC Cadets took place to appreciate the ones who make the college proud in every possible way. The event came towards an end with the announcement of the best-dressed students and teachers. It was of immense pleasure to say that Prof. Dilip Shah and Dr. Vasundhara Mishra were awarded the Best Dressed Teachers. To conclude the proceedings of this year’s Republic Day celebrations, Prof. Dilip Shah delivered his vote of thanks, and the event saw an end at 11:30 A.M. with the students celebrating and dancing to Bollywood tracks.

NCC Cadets Shine at Republic Day Camp 2025
Six NCC cadets from our college proudly represented their directorate at the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025 in Delhi. Cdt. Kishan Upadhyay and Cdt. Priyanshu Jha were selected for the All India Guard of Honour, while Cdt. Prince Raj Gupta and Cdt. Rufina Toppo marched in the elite Drill Contingent on Kartavyapath. Best Cadets Cdt. Aryan Gupta and Cdt. Shagnik Mitra excelled in multiple events, with Aryan earning the Director General of NCC Medal. Their outstanding performance brings pride to our institution, inspiring future cadets to aim for excellence in NCC.
