Objective of the event
To train students of semester 2 to present a paper on Netaji to their peers and juniors and prepare them on both research and public speaking.
Brief description of the event
As part of Independence Day celebrations, the Department of History organised student peer presentations. The topic was chosen to reflect Netaji’s role in the Indian freedom struggle. 5 students were chosen to discuss the background of the anti-colonial struggle, the life and times of Netaji Subhas Bose and his contribution to the freedom struggle. Poushali Dey, Shambhobee Mukherjee, Dipty Maity, Yasoki Subba and Amrita Pramanik presented their research to their peers. It was an hour long presentation with facts, figures and illustrations.
Outcome of the event
The students who presented their research received training in public speaking and confidence to present their work to a larger audience.
