Brief Description of the Activity:
The NSS Unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College observed World AIDS Day on 1st December 2025 through a two-phase awareness initiative. Phase 1 focused on community outreach, sensitisation, and public engagement aimed at spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS among local residents.

NSS volunteers actively visited nearby markets, streets, and residential areas, interacting with community members through direct conversations and door-to-door awareness visits. The volunteers engaged with shopkeepers, daily commuters, and households, explaining the significance of World AIDS Day and sharing essential information regarding HIV transmission, preventive measures, stigma reduction, and the importance of regular health check-ups. Through these interactions, the volunteers encouraged open dialogue and promoted greater understanding of HIV/AIDS within the community.

The programme successfully reached a diverse section of the local community and enhanced public awareness regarding HIV/AIDS. The direct interaction with residents helped address misconceptions, reduce stigma, and promote informed health-related decisions. The initiative encouraged greater community participation in awareness efforts while fostering a sense of social responsibility among the NSS volunteers. Overall, the activity contributed to building a more informed, empathetic, and health-conscious community.
