The Women’s Cell of Bhawanipur Education Society College, in association with the IQAC, organised a women-centric event on 9th April 2026, entitled S.H.E 2.0 (Stands. Hurdles. Empowers). The event was inaugurated by Prof. Debjani Ganguly, Vice-Principal (Arts), and took place in Valia Hall from 11 AM to 4 PM.
Objective of the Event
The programme was organised to highlight women’s achievements to inspire others and elevate their role in society through reinforcing the commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.








Brief Description of the Event
An Exhibition-cum-Sale was organised in collaboration with the Institute of Social Work (ISW), Kolkata. ISW is an organisation that is committed to experiential and learning-oriented development, with a primary focus on women and children. The initiative of S.H.E. 2.0 aimed to showcase and create spaces and networking opportunities for professional growth and support and use the platform to support local or female-owned enterprises. Bags, purses, stationaries, pickles, jam, spices, sarees, handicraft items and many other items were exhibited. Students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff visited the exhibition and bought several items, making the profit of the women artisans and entrepreneurs an appreciable amount.
Outcome of the Event
The program provided a platform for encouraging women to pursue leadership roles and non-traditional careers, reinforcing that empowering women leads to economic growth and stronger community discussions, interactions, and awareness regarding women’s rights and achievements. Faculty members, students, and guests participated actively, making the event a meaningful tribute to women’s strength and contributions.
