Objective of the event: As an icon of Bengali literature reckoning the entire world, the auspicious birthday of Gurudeb Rabindranath Tagore is officially observed throughout the nation, mandatorily in all academic institutions of India. Contextually, Rabindra Jayanti 2024 was observed by the Science section students to keep them connected to the culture of Gurudeb through his songs, poems, drama, and dance performed by them.
8. Brief description of the event: The programme was started with the welcome address by Procheta Mondal, followed by inauguration and lightening of lamp, speech by The Teacher-In-Charge, Dean of Science, Vice-Principal (science) and the Rector & Dean of student”s affairs of the College. Opening Song, Path from Rabindra Sahitya were performed followed by dances, songs, Recitation with flute and a drama.
9. Outcome of the event: The programme was found satisfactory to inspire our students, non-teaching staff as well as the teachers to stay tuned with the Rabindra Culture and Creations. This has also served as a valuable break into the monotony of academic courses of the students. Conclusively, they have become able to stay tuned with the precious Rabindra Art & Philosophy to some extent which may be helpful for their future social wellbeing.
