The Bhawanipur Education Society College along with StockGro (online trading application) organized a Stock Market Event—MARKET MUSE from 11th to 17th April 2021. There were various rounds namely Market Flash (12-13th April), Market Trivia (15-16th April) etc. At the call of the day, the winners were declared.
The event started with the game Market Flash. The first game was to teach the students the basics of the app and hence it was kept short. Market Flash began on the 12th of April (from 10am to 2pm) and continued till the 13th of April 2021. Information regarding various companies were made available to the students so that they could purchase and sell the stocks virtually. Market Trivia was kept real time, starting on the 15th of April 9am-4pm and continued till the 16th of April.
A zoom meeting was conducted to explain the usage of the app, processes and details of the event and the games. The Faculty also educated the participants on the same with the help of various PDFs. From explaining the difference between Portfolio Alpha and Portfolio Beta to answering the queries of the participants, they did it all. Post which, the participants i.e., the students were provided with virtual money to trade.
The event provided the students an opportunity to experience real time stock market and helped them understand the concept of trading and investing. Students were thrilled at the opportunity and the event was a success. On the final day Dean Sir addressed the participants, organizers and congratulated them all. He also promised that BESC will have many such events in the near future. The event ended on a note of thanks.
The event was co-ordinated by Aditi Sinolia. Prof. Dilip Shah also remarked that ‘it is good to know that the owner of the company StockGro, Mr. Lakhotia is an Ex-Student of the college.’
No fest is complete without its moments captured in pictures. Umang too had one such event where the photographers had to roam about the entire campus capturing the various moods as the mood says-Moods of Umang.
