“Run for a healthier tomorrow, one step at a time.”
The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted an engaging promotional event for the upcoming JBG Kolkata Marathon at Jubilee Hall at 5:00 P.M., bringing together students and children to celebrate fitness, entertainment and an active lifestyle. With the marathon entering its 11th edition and expecting around 12,000 runners, the programme aimed to encourage the younger generation to participate and take a step towards a healthier lifestyle.
The programme began on an energetic note with a vibrant performance by Flames Bollywood, the college’s own dance team. Their performance immediately created an enthusiastic atmosphere among the audience. This was followed by a stand-up comedy performance by Naman Chandak, which added a lighter and entertaining element to the evening while keeping the audience engaged.

The event also marked the promotion of the marathon’s activewear and apparel partnership with T10 Sports. Vineet Agarwal, spokesperson for T10 Sports, addressed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to The Bhawanipur Education Society College for providing a platform to showcase the brand’s newly launched marathon jersey.
Following this, a lively ramp show was organised featuring college students who showcased a range of activewear and gymwear, along with the newly launched JBG Kolkata Marathon jerseys. The show added a fashionable and energetic touch to the fitness-focused event.
The excitement reached another level with the appearance of the event’s chief guests, Milind Soman, fitness model, actor and athlete, and his wife, Aavantika Konwar. The duo joined the students on the ramp, drawing considerable enthusiasm from the audience. Their presence further highlighted the evening’s central message of fitness and an active lifestyle.
A fun fitness challenge was also organised during the programme. Girls were invited to complete 10 push-ups, while boys were challenged to perform 20 push-ups, with participants getting an opportunity to take a selfie with Milind Soman. The activity added an interactive element to the evening and encouraged students to actively participate rather than simply watch the proceedings.

The upcoming JBG Kolkata Marathon is scheduled to take place on 29th September at Red Road, featuring the full marathon distance of 42.195 kilometres. College students interested in participating can register through the Dean’s Office, encouraging greater involvement from the student community.
Towards the conclusion of the programme, Prof. Dilip Shah, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, was felicitated by the JBG team as a gesture of appreciation for the college’s support.
The event concluded on a high note, successfully bringing together fitness, entertainment, fashion and student participation while creating enthusiasm for the upcoming 11th edition of the JBG Kolkata Marathon.
