Ideas shape economies, but it is discussion and innovation that bring those ideas to life. With this spirit, The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised Ecophoria 2026, its inter-college economics fest, on 28th and 29th May 2026, from 9 am to 5 pm. Witnessing the participation of over 60 students from 5 different colleges, the event aimed to test their analytical thinking, decision-making, and understanding of real-world economics.

The fest commenced with a welcome address by the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, who introduced the Chief Guest, Mr Anurag Singal, an entrepreneur, Chartered Accountant, and mentor to thousands of young minds. After being felicitated by Prof. Shah, Mr Singal encouraged students to think beyond textbooks and view economics as a tool to understand and influence the world around them.

Spread over two days and venues such as the college classrooms, Society Hall, Concept Hall, and Jubilee Hall, Ecophoria featured eight events, each offering a unique perspective on economics and business strategy.

The Empirical Chamber – The event was designed to challenge participants to debate on contemporary economic issues, testing their ability to defend arguments with logic and evidence. The Second Runners-up was Bhawanipur Global Campus, the First Runners-up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College, and the Winner was EICASA.

Policy Analytics Lab – The event required teams to analyse data and formulate practical policy recommendations, encouraging research-driven decision-making. The Second Runners-up was  Bhawanipur Global Campus, The First  Runners-up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College, and the Winner was EICASA

Market Mirage – It placed participants in simulated market conditions, where they had to make strategic financial decisions while adapting to changing economic scenarios. The Second Runners Up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College (OTSE 1), The First Runners Up was THK Jain College (OTSE), and the Winner was The Bhawanipur Education Society College.

Arbitrage Arena – The event focused on auctions, negotiation, and resource management as teams competed to build the strongest economy through effective planning. The Second Runners Up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College, The First Runners Up was EICASA, and the Winner was The Bhawanipur Education Society College (OTSE 1).

Financial Blueprint –  The participants assumed the role of finance ministers, balancing growth, public welfare, and economic stability while responding to policy challenges. The Second Runners Up were EICASA, the First Runner Up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College, and the winner was Bhawanipur Global Campus.

Econ Escape Room – The event combined economics with puzzle-solving, requiring teams to work together to solve clues and complete tasks within a limited time. The Second Runner Up was EICASA, The First Runner Up was Loreto College (OTSE 2), and the Winner was The Bhawanipur Education Society College.

Too Big to Fail – Inspired by real-world financial crises, the event tested participants’ ability to manage institutions through uncertainty while making critical economic decisions. The Second Runner Up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College (OTSE 1), the First Runner Up was EICASA, and the winner was The Bhawanipur Education Society College.

Boardroom Bingo – The event simulated corporate decision-making, encouraging teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking in a dynamic business environment. The Second Runner Up was  Bhawanipur Global Campus and EICASA. The first runner-up was The Bhawanipur Education Society College, and the Winner was The Bhawanipur Education Society College (OTSE 1).

Throughout the fest, classrooms turned into spaces of discussion, collaboration, and healthy competition as participants confidently applied economic concepts to practical situations.

More than a competition, Ecophoria 2026 served as a platform for learning, interaction, and intellectual exchange. By combining academic knowledge with real-world applications, the fest successfully highlighted the relevance of economics while providing students with an engaging and enriching experience.

Lastly, to end the event on a good note, all the prize winners were given medals and certificates by the respective judges of the events, along with the overall winner trophy being handed over by our Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah.

The Best CR was awarded to Mohammad Shahid Dayer from EICASA. The overall first runner-up was EICASA, and the winner was The Bhawanipur Education Society College.
