“In every dance, a tradition lives; in every celebration, a community comes together”

The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted its annual Garba and Dandiya night, Dhamaal 2026, on 11 October at the college turf, bringing together students, faculty members, and the college management for an evening filled with devotion, music, and dance.

The evening began at 5:30 p.m. with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a traditional Aarti led by members of the college management. As the glow of the diyas illuminated the turf, a soulful devotional song echoed across the venue, setting the tone for the festivities ahead.

Following the Aarti, the college’s Flames Eastern team performed the traditional Dhunuchi Naach to the beats of the Dhak, highlighting the institution’s multicultural spirit. The energetic performance created a seamless transition from the devotional opening to the lively celebrations that followed.

The turf soon came alive as the Garba celebrations began. Dressed in colourful traditional attire, participants formed circles and danced to the rhythm of the music. Students, faculty members, and the college management joined in, transforming the turf into a vibrant space where everyone could participate. The lively atmosphere made Garba one of the major highlights of the evening.

The excitement continued with Dandiya Raas, which brought its own rhythm and charm to the celebrations. The rhythmic clashing of Dandiya sticks, accompanied by upbeat music, added to the excitement as participants danced in perfect synchrony. The enthusiasm on the turf continued to grow as more people joined in, making the celebration even more vibrant.

To end the night on a high note, the festivities transitioned into an energetic DJ session, bringing a contemporary twist to the traditional celebrations. As the music grew louder, the dance floor came alive once again, with students dancing their hearts out until the event concluded at 8:00 p.m. The DJ session served as the perfect finale to an evening that seamlessly blended devotion, cultural traditions, and modern entertainment.

The celebration also recognised participants for their style and dancing skills. The Best Dressed awards were presented to Tanish Joshi in the male category and Muskan Holani in the female category. The Best Dancer awards went to Mit Thacker in the male category and Vaidehi Udeshi in the female category.

Dhamaal 2026 once again reaffirmed Bhawanipur’s commitment to preserving cultural roots while celebrating them with energy and togetherness. The event left behind more than echoes of music and memories of celebration; it was an evening in which traditions found new expression and every dance step and shared smile contributed to the spirit of the occasion. With hearts full of joy and the festive spirit lingering long after the music faded, Dhamaal 2026 came to a memorable close.
