Producer and designer Anuja Mukherjee narrated how the two sisters began their adventures with the camera when their father Binode Behari Sen Roy gifted them a box camera on their twelfth birthday and even set up a makeshift dark room in the house and encouraged his daughters to print their own photos. A section of the exhibition was dedicated to portray their early life spent in Ramnagar and their experiments with the lens.

They mostly intended to capture their lives within the threshold of their ‘homes’. Most of the early photographs depicted the women in their lives. As the narratives of their lives changed gradually, they soon started capturing their children, their pets and the outer world too.
