The Big Fat Indian Wedding an event by BSEM, Bhawanipur School of Event Management was a one-of-a-kind event hosted at the college on 20th November 2023. The event was organized by Ms Prairna Khuller, Dean BSEM which brought to life vibrant colors popping all around. With about 150 attendees enthralled from the start, the event was hosted in the Concept Hall which was beautifully decorated like a wedding home filled with flowers, lights, and decorations. The Event started at 11:00 am with an opening ceremony & the two-hour event was power packed with dance, fun, songs, and education.
Starting with a mesmerizing performance from Crescendo, the music collective, it was followed by a dance performance by Rajdeep & group to set the wedding groove on. It was reminiscent of a Sangeet night of an Indian wedding which was then followed by the Rector & Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah’s welcome address to the attendees for the session. Thereafter, Ms. Prairna Khuller, Dean of BSEM felicitated the dignitaries who graced the occasion. Names from the event management fraternity celebrated in the wedding planning business were then called upon stage, beginning with the keynote speaker, Mr. Parthip Thagyrajan the owner of WeddingSutra, the one-stop for all wedding shopping, Ms. Dolly Jain the celebrity professional Sari draper, Mr. Suraj Juneja, Founder Free Flow Ventures Pvt Ltd, Mr. Kumar Shobham, GM Hyatt Regency, Mr. Sandeep Vyas, Ex – Alumni of The Bhawanipur & a performer, born to sing & entertain, Mr. Saurabh Rungta, Award winning Destination Wedding Photographer, Ms. Poonam Khandelwal, Founder, Designs & Partner & Mr. Anthony Desouza, Owner The Floral Bucket & Mr. Bunty Sinha, the backbone of Production, Re Gear Technicals. From the college, we had Members of Management, Mr. Utsav Parekh and Mr. Miraj Shah. After the felicitation lamp lighting ceremony took place & the stage was taken over by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Parthip Thagyrajan who gave his valuable insights on event management and wedding planning business as the Founder of the WeddingSutra.
It was after this that the floor was opened for a question-and-answer round for the attendees, making it an interactive seminar to learn about the know-how of Indian wedding ceremonies. Lastly, attendees got to see a screening of the beautiful arrangements that go into ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’. The event ended with a vote of thanks and an applause for the first batch of BSEM. The event concluded with lunch for the dignitaries at the Concept Hall.

On 28th March 2015our college organized Bhawanipur Elite Soccer Championship at Northern Park. Around ten professors from different departments participated in the championship. The first match began at 8:30am.
