Our much-anticipated Team Umang excursion with a group of 73, began on 07th April 2025, when we reached Raxaul Station early in the morning. From there, we boarded our buses and proceeded towards the Birgunj checkpost at the India-Nepal border. After the necessary document verification, issuance of passes, and currency exchange, we entered Nepal and began our journey towards Kathmandu.
Along the way, we halted for breakfast and lunch amidst scenic views. By evening, we reached Kathmandu and checked into our hotel. After a short rest, we explored the vibrant streets of Thamel, a bustling and famous marketplace known for its local crafts, souvenirs, cafes, and cultural vibes.
The following day was dedicated to sightseeing around Kathmandu. We visited some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Pashupatinath Temple, Darbar Square Market, the Boudhanath Stupa, and the serene Neelkanth View Point and Temple. Each site offered a unique glimpse into Nepal’s rich heritage, architecture, and spiritual essence.
On the third day, we embarked on a spiritual and scenic adventure to the Manokamna Temple. The highlight of this visit was the ropeway ride, spanning a length of 9,095 feet, which connected Kurintar to the temple. During the ride, we were treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Manaslu, Himalchuli, and Annapurna Himalayan ranges — truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After the temple visit, we proceeded to Pokhara and checked into our Hotel, which had majestic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. After freshening up, we explored the Pokhara market, soaking in the local culture and picking up a few souvenirs.
The next day, our group was split into two: one group chose to pursue adventure activities, while the other followed the itinerary-based sightseeing.
The adventure group had a thrilling day engaging in bungee jumping (both 75m and 220m) and paragliding. Meanwhile, the sightseeing group visited the Mahindra Cave, Davi’s Waterfall, the gorge of Seti River, Bindhyabashini Temple, and the International Mountain Museum. The day concluded beautifully with a boat ride on Phewa Lake, where one side was lined with lively cafes and clubs, while the other offered a spectacular view of the mountains.
On the final leg of our journey, we travelled to Chitwan. After checking into our resort and having lunch, we headed out for a Jeep Safari in Chitwan National Park. Divided into smaller groups, we ventured deep into the forest, encountering various wildlife species. The off-road experience added an extra thrill to the adventure, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
This excursion was an enriching blend of culture, spirituality, adventure, and natural beauty and created memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.
