The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised its Annual Sports and Athletics Felicitation Meet 2025–26, Rings of Hope, at Jubilee Hall, on 30th August 2026, celebrating the dedication and achievements of its students across various sporting disciplines.
The programme commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, performed by the President, Shri Rajnikant Dani, along with the Sports Officers, coaches, and esteemed dignitaries. This was followed by the recitation of Vande Mataram and a classical dance performance, marking the beginning of the ceremony.




The gathering was then addressed by the President, Shri Rajnikant Dani, and the Senior Vice President, Shri Miraj D. Shah. Both delivered inspiring speeches on the importance of sports, appreciated the students for their participation, and encouraged them to take an active interest in sporting activities. They also highlighted the role of sports in developing discipline, confidence, and perseverance.
A significant moment of the ceremony was the presentation of the Bhawanipur Khel Ratna to Mahi Bosmia for her achievements in darts. Having represented India internationally and secured victories in the competitions she participated in, her accomplishments brought distinction to the institution.
The first phase of the prize distribution recognised the Outstanding Students, including those who represented the University of Calcutta at state and national tournaments and those who participated in inter-college competitions. Students were recognised for their performances in several sports, including chess, cricket, kho kho, kabaddi, throwball, badminton, table tennis, hardball, and many others. The felicitation was conducted by the President, the Secretary, and Joint Secretary Shri Jitendra Shah.




A musical performance by a student of Crescendo followed, after which selected coaches were felicitated for their guidance and contribution to the students’ achievements. Sir Umesh Thakkar, President of the Alumni Association, presented the honours and also felicitated some outstanding performers.
The second phase recognised the Excellence Students, who participated in various intra-college sporting events. The students were felicitated by the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, along with Sports Officers Rupesh Gandhi and Manikant Chaudhary.
Prof. Dilip Shah then addressed the gathering, explaining the significance of National Sports Day and its association with Major Dhyan Chand, whose birth anniversary is observed as National Sports Day. He encouraged students to participate actively in sports and expressed his pride in the college’s participation across several games. He also acknowledged the coaches for helping students develop their abilities and pursue their sporting ambitions. He further explained that the college organises its annual sports felicitation after National Sports Day to create awareness about its significance and inspire students to participate in sports.





The final phase, the Contribution category, recognised members of the Bhawanipur team for their contribution to the college’s sporting activities. They were felicitated by Cricket Coach Sunil Pandey, Coach Prateek Das, Sports Officer Rupesh Gandhi, Joint Secretary Shri Jitendra Shah, and Sports Officer Manikant Chaudhary.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, delivered by Shri Jitendra Shah and Rupesh Gandhi, who expressed their gratitude to the students, coaches, the President, the Dean, and everyone involved in supporting sports at the college. The National Anthem was then recited, bringing the ceremony to a formal close, followed by lunch.
Rings of Hope celebrated the achievements of the students while recognising the dedication of the coaches and the institution’s continued encouragement of sporting excellence.
