“To live the life you’ve always imagined, you must go confidently in the direction of your dreams.”
-Henry Thoreau
It was time for a new beginning, and we saw it happen with the arrival of the new batch and thus started mission “Orientation,” where, over 3 days and 14 slots, The Bhawanipur Education Society College saw new students being welcomed to experience the ambience and be a witness to the great legacy they would be a part of. While our tears from bidding adieu to the graduating batch of 2026 were still not entirely dry, we welcomed our new batches of students with open arms. From morning to evening, the three-day programme was conducted on July 5th, 6th and 7th, 2026, in both the Jubilee and Concept Halls of the college. With approximately 3000 new students from all disciplines of Commerce (Morning, Afternoon and Evening), Humanities, Science and Business Administration, accommodated into 14 different slots, visiting the college with dreams in their eyes were surely not let down as the welcoming decorations of balloons and fun standees covering the gates, corridors and the turf surely created a warm and exciting environment. Moving on from school life and preparing to begin their college life, we chose the theme “Linch Pin” for this year’s orientation. A Linch Pin, is that part of a puzzle without which the entire puzzle remains incomplete. Similarly, the students act as a Linch Pin for the College, and the College acts as a Linch Pin for the students, as without each other, both remain incomplete. It symbolised hope and assurance for a new beginning in the lives of new BE-Ites.
A welcome to a four-year journey filled with excitement, assignments, deadlines and countless memories could not be plain, and to make sure of that, we started the Orientation programme on 5th of July, 2026, at 9 AM with all slots kicking off with the iconic college AV that provided the new students with a glimpse into the college life of BESC. Following which our anchors interacted with the excited and nervous students, easing them up with a poem and introducing them to our college ritual of “Hey BESC ! What’s Up?”, our famous cry that turned the newbies into true BE-ites. Following this, our pillar of support for the college, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah made a rather dashing entry onto the stage, delivering an inspiring speech about the college, he spoke about how college has a place for every student to grow and learn every single passion of theirs not only through teachers but also through friends and numerous collectives which he rightly called as co-curricular not extra-curricular.

He further laid emphasis on how in college a person is defined by their level of skill and knowledge and not just their seniority; in his words, “You can learn all that you dream of while turning it into a profession in that one place, that is Bhawanipur”. He mentioned how the college organises over 200 events during the year and how they manage it all in a calendar of just 182 working days. He further highlighted the need for modern, leverage-building skills in today’s economy and highlighted the availability of Career and Emotional Counselling on campus to facilitate the same. He wished the newbies the best for their futures, following which the AV’s of the various College Collectives were rolled, interspersed with Representatives of the respective Collectives coming up on stage to introduce their Collective and explain why students should join them. It is a matter of pride that the college has twenty collectives, including Assembly of Nations (AON), Bhawanipur Entrepreneurship & Startup Training (BEST), Bull’s Eye, Eco For Be-ites, Vox Populi, Art in Me (AIM), Expressions, Crescendo, Flames, Enact, Fashionista, Celluloid, SETU, Power Hour, Quizzard, Students Share Skill (SSS), NSS, NCC, Book Reading and Pixel Pioneers.
Following this, Vice-Principal, Department of Commerce (Morning), Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, took the stage to enlighten the young minds about the numerous Career Connect Courses provided by the college exclusively for its students to enrich their CVs by teaching industry-relevant skills such as Digital Marketing, Public Speaking, GK Booster, MS Office, Google Workspace, Tally Prime, Content Writing and Blogging, Working with GST, Dynamics of Capital Market, Introduction to Python and Database Edition, ACCA, and CA Foundation. The introduction of these courses is one of many unique initiatives of BESC that make it stand out from all others. Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi also introduced a new course, Everyday Essentials for Empowerment, which teaches basic life skills to students. She further elaborated on rules and regulations, norms, dress code, and decorum, as well as the work of the Placement Cell of BESC, which provides internships and job opportunities to students.

Towards the end of each slot, one of the Collectives- Flames, Enact, Crescendo, or Fashionista, took the stage to dazzle the audience with their stellar performances and also to let freshers get an exclusive look at how great a spectacle the Bhawanipur Education Society College puts on. The students were then escorted by volunteers on a guided college tour, College Brahman, where they were shown the major areas of the college, such as the Library, Sports Arena, and Canteen. Most importantly, a selfie zone was also arranged, where the excited new students could capture their first memories of college life. By 7:00 P.M. on 7th July 2026, the BESC Orientation themed “Linch Pin” successfully concluded with the official turning of eager new students into BE-ites and the facilitation of their first step into college life!
