Objective of the event: The objective of the event was to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the usage of AI in research and publication and Data Reduction and Model Validation, Validating and Reliability Checking of Questionnaires, EFA and SEM Techniques in AMOS. The workshop aimed to inspire critical thinking amongst the students and the teachers empowering participants to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Brief description of the event: The Department of Commerce PG and UG (Afternoon and Evening Section) organised a workshop on research techniques on April 26, 2024. The event attracted 60 participants, including faculty members, organising committee members and students. The talk began with an opening address by Ms. Debalina Chattopadhyay, the Organising Secretary, and a welcome address by Prof.Paramita Chakravarty, Associate Professor, Co-Ordinator , PG Department of Commerce. The felicitation ceremony was then conducted by, Associate Professor, Commerce (Afternoon & Evening), Dr. Joyeeta Bhadury, honouring the resource person, Dr. Nilanjan Ray, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies , JIS University, along with Associate Professor, Commerce (Afternoon & Evening), Atreyee Ganguly, honouring the resource person Meghdoot Ghosh , Professor , Post Graduate Institute of Hospital Administration, Peerless Hospital Campus. Dr. Nilanjan Ray began the lecture by emphasizing research reports on writing various ways to conduct a literature review. Various uses of AI technologies like Google Scholar, Sci-hub, Connecting Papers, were thoroughly demonstrated to the audience for conducting an enhanced literature review. Concluding the lecture, Dr. Meghdoot Ghosh, gave a detailed view on data reduction techniques. The event was concluded with a special Vote of Thanks by Ms. Gargi Das, Assistant Professor, B.com (Afternoon & Evening).
Outcome of the event: The event effectively deepened participants’ understanding of the data analysis and research paper writing procedure. The keynote lecture and interactive session offered valuable insights into both theoretical and practical aspects of research world. Engaging discussions encouraged critical thinking and practical application of concepts.
