Objective of the Activity:
To create awareness about International Mother Language Day (Bhasa Dibosh) and its significance, promote cultural expression through performances and interaction, and encourage appreciation and respect for mother languages and cultural heritage.

Brief Description of the Activity:
The NSS Unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College observed International Mother Language Day at Tollygunge Girish Chandra Institute on 24 February 2026. The programme began with an introduction highlighting the significance of Bhasa Dibosh and the importance of preserving one’s mother language. NSS volunteers interacted with the students and organized various cultural activities, including recitation, singing, and dancing, which witnessed enthusiastic participation. The event encouraged students to express themselves through language and culture while fostering a spirit of cultural pride and inclusiveness. Certificates were distributed to the participants, along with stationery kits and food packets. The programme concluded with a group photograph session, making the celebration both joyful and meaningful.

Outcome of the Activity:
The programme successfully created awareness regarding the importance of mother languages and cultural heritage among the students. The interactive sessions and cultural performances encouraged active participation and appreciation for linguistic diversity. The event strengthened community bonding and promoted respect for cultural identity among the beneficiaries.
