Objective of the Activity: The objective of the event was to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, promote scientific thinking, and provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity and knowledge through quizzes and poster presentations.
Brief Description of the Activity: On 19th May 2025, the Science Section of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, in collaboration with the Seminar Committee, organised an inter-departmental quiz and poster presentation competition to showcase the talent, innovation, and creativity of the Science students of the college. The day-long event, known as Innovate to Elevate, was held at the Jubilee Hall of the college.
The event began with the inaugural session that featured welcome addresses by the Teacher-in-Charge of the college, along with speeches by the Dean and the Vice-Principal of the Science Section. Their speeches highlighted the necessity of scientific thinking in the holistic development of human society.
Following the inaugural session, the inter-departmental postal presentation competition commenced. The session was a major attraction where 15 teams across various departments took part to feature scientific ideas and innovations through 15 posters. The event was judged by Dr. Supriti Paul, Assistant Professor, Bethune College, and Dr. Sanjib Halder, Associate Professor, The Bhawanipur Education Society College.
The other notable segment of the event, the Interdepartmental Quiz Competition, began post lunch that saw enthusiastic participation from five teams representing five departments of the science sections. After four competitive rounds, the Department of Chemistry was declared to be the winner. The Department of Chemistry won the Winner’s Trophy by winning the poster presentation competition as well.
The event concluded with a Valedictory Session and a sincere Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the participants, organizing team, faculty members, and invited guests. Innovate to Elevate successfully fostered a spirit of inquiry and collaboration, reaffirming the college’s commitment to academic excellence and scientific enthusiasm.
Outcome of the Activity: The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from science departments, with students showcasing innovative ideas and strong subject knowledge. The poster presentation featured 15 creative entries, while the quiz competition engaged five departmental teams in a spirited contest.
