Objective of the Activity:
To foster compassion, empathy, and community bonding through meaningful interaction with elderly residents and to provide them with companionship and entertainment through cultural activities.

Brief Description of the Activity:
As part of a community outreach initiative, the NSS Unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College visited Ekante Old Age Home, Sonarpur, on 09 March 2026. A cultural programme was organized for the residents, where NSS volunteers presented recitations, songs, and dance performances to entertain and engage the elderly. The residents warmly welcomed the volunteers and actively participated in the interactions by sharing stories, engaging in conversations, and singing along during the programme. The lively exchange created a cheerful and heartfelt atmosphere, allowing both the volunteers and residents to enjoy each other’s company. The visit brought happiness to the residents and strengthened the spirit of care and togetherness.

Outcome of the Activity:
The programme successfully created a sense of joy and companionship among the elderly residents and strengthened the values of empathy and social responsibility among the volunteers. The interaction promoted intergenerational bonding and highlighted the importance of community support and emotional well-being for senior citizens.
