The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised a two-day Event Management Workshop for Umang 2026 on 16th and 17th September 2026 at Jubilee Hall. The workshop witnessed the participation of around 300 students from all four years and was organised to prepare students for the upcoming college fest. The sessions focused on planning, teamwork, leadership, coordination and the various responsibilities involved in managing a large-scale event.

The workshop began with addresses by Prof. Dilip Shah, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, and Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Vice Principal, B.Com. (Morning Department). They spoke about the significance of Umang and the memorable experience it offers through the involvement of students and faculty members. Prof. Dilip Shah also expressed his excitement about the college’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and encouraged the junior students to actively participate and contribute to the special occasion.

The students were then addressed by Gaurav Bajoria, a professional in the event management field and a proud alumnus of The Bhawanipur Education Society College. He introduced the students to Umang and explained how the fest is planned and executed, giving them an insight into the work that happens behind the scenes before a college fest actually begins.

Gaurav introduced the theme for Umang 2026 and discussed important aspects such as planning, budgeting, sponsorships, coordination and execution. He also interacted with the sponsorship team regarding the budget for this year’s fest, helping students understand the financial and organisational considerations involved in conducting a large-scale event.

The session was made interactive as students were asked to introduce themselves and share their ideas for possible events that could be organised during Umang. Students from different years came forward with suggestions, making the workshop more of a discussion rather than simply a formal session.

The official dates of Umang 2026 were also announced, with the fest scheduled from 25th to 29th December 2026, with the final day dedicated to the much-awaited concert. The announcement added to the excitement among the students and gave them a clear timeline to work towards.

The different departments and teams involved in organising Umang were also introduced, along with their responsibilities in both the backend and frontend of the event. This helped students understand how several teams need to work together for a fest to run smoothly and how every department contributes to the final outcome.

Students were also given creative tasks during the workshop. Posters designed by students were showcased, followed by the task of creating a reveal video for Umang 2026. These activities allowed students to put their ideas into practice while also giving them an early opportunity to contribute to the upcoming fest.

Gaurav Bajoria also shared experiences from his own college days and spoke about what Umang meant to him as a student. He encouraged the participants to take responsibility, participate sincerely and bring fresh ideas to the table. His interaction also highlighted the importance of teamwork and coordination in turning ideas into successful events.

The workshop continued with discussions and activities until around 6:30 P.M., with students actively participating throughout the sessions. It concluded on a positive note, giving students a better understanding of event management and the responsibilities that come with being part of a college fest.

More than just a preparatory workshop, the event served as a starting point for students to come together, share ideas and take ownership of Umang 2026, setting the stage for an exciting and memorable edition of the college fest.
