• To provide students with an opportunity to explore academic environments and infrastructure at Andhra University
• To understand intellectual property rights and innovation support systems
• To experience cultural and natural beauty of Vizag and Araku Valley
7. Brief description of the event: The excursion to Vizag and Araku Valley, organized by The Bhawanipur Education Society College Department of Mathematics and Physics, commenced on 22nd November 2023. At 15:00 hrs, the group was reported at Shalimar Railway Station, at the main enquiry area. The journey to Visakhapatnam was begun by boarding the 12773 Shalimar Secunderabad Express. An overnight train journey was undertaken to reach Visakhapatnam.
Upon arrival at Visakhapatnam Railway Station at 05:30 hrs on 23rd November 2023, the group was transferred to Meghalaya Hotel by bus at 07:00 hrs. After check-in and breakfast, a visit to Andhra University was conducted at 09:00 hrs, where the academic environment and infrastructure were explored. Later, a visit to the IPR Department and Incubation Centre at Andhra University was undertaken, providing an in-depth look into intellectual property rights and innovation support systems. Lunch was taken at the hotel, followed by a return visit to the university to engage with various departments and faculty members. The night was spent at Meghalaya Hotel.
A full-day sightseeing tour of Vizag City was then embarked upon, visiting Bemli Beach, Rishikonda Beach, Kailash Giri Parvat, the Submarine Museum, Ramkrishna Beach, the Buddha Statue, and Totlakonda Beach. The overnight stay was at Meghalaya Hotel.
On 25th November 2023, the group was transferred to Vizag Railway Station at 05:45 hrs to board the 08551 Vista Dome train to Araku Valley at 06:45 hrs. The picturesque journey was completed with arrival at Araku Valley at 11:00 hrs, followed by a transfer to Hotel Basundhara Grand. After lunch, Padmapuram Garden and the Tribal Museum were visited by bus. The evening was free for personal activities, with an overnight stay at Hotel Basundhara Grand.
On 26th November 2023, after breakfast, the group proceeded to Vizag Railway Station via Bora Caves at 09:00 hrs. The fascinating natural formations of the caves were explored. Arrival at Vizag Railway Station was at 17:00 hrs, and at 20:00 hrs, the journey back to Shalimar was begun by boarding the 12842 Coromandel Express for an overnight train journey.
The tour concluded with arrival at Shalimar Station at 12:00 hrs on 27th November 2023. The educational excursion to Vizag and Araku Valley provided a memorable experience, combining academic visits, cultural exposure, and natural beauty. The tour was conducted by eight teachers from The Bhawanipur Education Society College Department of Mathematics and Physics, ensuring that the activities were educational and enriching. Participation was seen from 23 students from the Mathematics and Physics departments, who actively engaged in all the planned activities.
