The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a Carnival for two days at the college campus. It was held on the 27th and 28th of March 2023 and was open to all students, parents & guests. The ambiance of the Carnival was visible right from the street where the entrance gate of the college had a Welcome to the Carnival banner. The entrance passage was uplifting the spirits with bright decor and sparkling lights. The registration began at 11:30 am leading everyone to the Turf through Valia Hall.
The turf area of the college became the center of attraction, with the gaming, merchandise, and food stalls set around the turf. The turf was embellished with brightly colored fringes leading to fun Carnival games like Bouncy, Trampoline & Bull Rides. The stalls consisted of savories like sandwiches, burgers, Chinese food, and a variety of street food, in beverages there were umpteen options like lassis & mocktails & the list of bakeries of all kinds is beyond mention. The other stalls sold artifacts, perfumes, traditional kurtas, instant photographs, customized T-Shirts, magnets, and photo frames. The gaming stalls had interesting games such as darts, rifle shooting, water guns, arranging the alphabet, and many more. In Valia Hall, other stalls were set up and they sold various ranges of accessories in good numbers. A few other game stalls like air hockey, and hitting the cups were also put up at Valia Hall.
The first day of the carnival saw a pet show put up by students’ very own pets and an open mic event held on the College Turf. A huge crowd gathered on the Turf bringing in their enthusiasm to see the adorable pets. The pets along with their caregivers strolled on the Turf and made everyone adore them. The pet show ended at 6 pm making way for the Open mic event. The event commenced with an overwhelming speech by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah. The show was hosted by Ankit Bhardwaj, who is a stand-up comedian, entertaining the audience with his hilarious jokes. While the other participants of the open mic performed, some singers charmed the audience with their melodious voices. The evening was enchanted with heartwarming shayaris, as the event ended at 7:30 pm. After the long eventful day, the dance floor was all lit for the DJ night and the students shook their legs and grooved to the music. The first day of the Carnival ended at 9.30 pm, and the stalls were all wrapped up by then.
On the second day of the carnival, the footfall was above 1000 and the stalls were flooded and there was a long queue of people outside the campus waiting to enter. The second day’s highlight was the band performance on the Turf. Raag n Rock and Retro Cats were the bands that performed that night. Their exuberant performances thrilled the audience with amusement. The next event was fire juggling which was held outside Valia Hall. It consisted of exciting events that were accompanied by dance techniques along with juggling, manipulation, fire-breathing, humor, and direct interaction with the audience. Carnival was a part of instilling the skills of entrepreneurship amongst students and by the end of Day 2, the students were definitely future-ready to become successful entrepreneurs. The second day of the event was over by 9:30 pm and was a tremendous success which was celebrated by all the volunteers.
