The Science Section of The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) successfully organised “Scirise Exhibita 2026” at Valia Hall on 29th June 2026, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing scientific temper, innovation, and sustainable thinking among young learners. The exhibition witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 100 students, including participants from several reputed schools across Kolkata and students of The Bhawanipur Education Society College.

The exhibition was inaugurated in the august presence of Prof. Dilip Shah (Rector and Dean of Student Affairs) and Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar, (Vice-Principal, Science Section), who encouraged students to pursue scientific inquiry and innovation for the betterment of society. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ivy Dasgupta (Department of Economics) and Ms. Pushpita Gangopadhyay (Department of Statistics).They were joined by an eminent panel of judges. The school category was evaluated by Dr. Rupali Gangopadhyay (Sister Nivedita University), Dr. Suparna Basak (Department of Physics) and Dr. Samir Kanti Dutta (Dean of Science Section), while the college category was judged by Dr. Anupa Ghosh (IQAC Coordinator of the College, Department of Economics), and Dr. Ramananda Maity (University of Calcutta).

The exhibition transformed Valia Hall into a vibrant centre of innovation, featuring an impressive range of student-led projects, including poster presentations, policy interventions such as metro rail path optimisation, sustainable technology models, live laboratory demonstrations, self-designed drones, sensor-enabled accident-prevention vehicles, earthquake-detecting road systems, and several other solutions addressing contemporary environmental and societal challenges. The exhibits reflected the ingenuity, creativity, and scientific outlook of the participants while reinforcing the importance of sustainable development.

Following a rigorous evaluation, the winners were announced.

While the winners were felicitated for their outstanding performances, the exhibition’s true success lay in inspiring every participant to dream beyond the classroom. By bringing together young innovators from schools and colleges on a common platform, Scirise Exhibita 2026 once again established the Science Section of The Bhawanipur Education Society College as a vibrant hub for scientific excellence, innovation, and collaborative learning, committed to shaping future scientists and responsible citizens.
