Objective of the Activity:
To create awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and the importance of eliminating stigma and discrimination associated with the disease. The programme aimed to educate the public, promote informed health practices, and encourage a compassionate and inclusive attitude towards people living with HIV/AIDS.





Brief Description of the Activity:
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized an HIV Awareness Campaign comprising a Rally and a Flashmob performance at Forum Courtyard Mall on 1st November 2025. The programme was conducted as part of an awareness initiative supported by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and under the direction of the Special WBSAP&CS.
A total of 50 NSS volunteers, accompanied by the NSS Programme Officer, actively participated in the campaign. The volunteers carried posters and banners displaying important messages related to HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. Informative leaflets were distributed among shoppers and visitors to educate them about modes of transmission, preventive measures, available treatments, and the need to eliminate social stigma. The flashmob performance effectively attracted public attention and conveyed key awareness messages in an engaging and impactful manner, encouraging greater community participation and understanding.





Outcome of the Activity:
The campaign successfully raised awareness among the public regarding HIV/AIDS and promoted accurate knowledge about prevention and treatment. The rally, flashmob, and distribution of educational materials helped reach a diverse audience and encouraged open discussions on the subject. The initiative contributed to reducing misconceptions and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS while reinforcing the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and responsible health practices. The event also enhanced the communication, teamwork, and leadership skills of the NSS volunteers involved.
