The Online Application for Admission 2026-27 has started for applicants who have received their Class XII Board Result.

Students of CBSE / WBCHSE board can apply once their Class XII board results are declared.

The entire Admission process is online and there will be no physical forms available for the Application.

  • The College has an online application process. There won’t be any physical distribution of forms.
  • After application and payment of the application fee, please keep checking the website for the merit list. Don’t make inquiries with the college, the list will be uploaded on the college website.
  • On being merit listed, you shall receive an SMS and email on your registered mobile/ email ID. Please follow the instruction given in the email.
  • There is no need to submit your application form, fee challan or any other document to the college office. Please keep them with you for your records.
  • Students with compartmental or fail result in Class XII board examinations are not eligible to apply for any courses in the College

As per the new Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF) issued by the University of Calcutta, all Honours programmes of studies shall be for a duration of Eight (8) Semesters (4 Years) with exit option after third year.

  • Students who complete the full four-year programme will earn a UG Honours Degree or a UG Honours Degree with Research.
  • Students opting for a research project or dissertation in the fourth year (Semesters 7 and 8) will be awarded an Honours with Research degree.
  • Students who choose not to undertake a research project in the eighth semester will be awarded an Honours degree.
  • Students who utilize the exit option after the third year, provided they have acquired the required minimum credits, will receive a Bachelor’s 3 year degree in Major.
  • The University of Calcutta now uses the nomenclature Major for ‘Honours’ and Minor for ‘General Electives.’ In addition to this, the CCF has also introduced new courses such as Inter-Disciplinary Courses (IDC), and Common Value-Added Courses (CVAC).

Beware of touts claiming to have links in the college for direct admission bypassing the process mentioned herein. Applicants are requested not to become a victim of such traps as the college does not allow indulgence in such illegal methods of admission.

Eligibililty Criteria

Minimum Common Eligibility Criteria for 4-year Honours Programmes. In addition to this, please refer to individual course page for additional course specific criteria. 

  • A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination from the eligible boards as given above is eligible to seek admission to the first Semester of the Four-year (eight semesters) B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / BBA (Honours) Courses provided he/ she has also passed in English, the full marks not being less than 100 and fulfils the conditions given below.
  • No candidate shall be allowed admission after a lapse of over four years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognised regular course of studies after passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission shall not be considered while calculating four (4) years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination, i.e., a candidate should have passed the previous qualifying examination not before March 2022.
  • Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination or its equivalent from CBSE, CISCE (ISC), WBCHSE (WB Board) and National Institute of Open Schooling, need not submit the Migration Certificate for registration under the University of Calcutta.
  • Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe community (Applicable for Applicants having valid certificates issued by the state of West Bengal only) taking up honours course must have a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject and related subject at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
