B.Sc. Honours in Electronics is a specialised major course for students who wish to learn the fundamentals and applications of electronics. This programme, which covers basic topics like analog and digital electronics, statistical and quantum mechanics, network analysis and electromagnetic theory provide a solid foundation to the intricacies of the subject. Whereas, the physics and application of semiconductor devices together with the skill enhancement papers on PSPICE, VHDL and MATLAB essentials prepare students for challenges in the electronics industry. On the other hand, fiber optics communication which has revolutionized long-haul telecommunication the world over is also a part of this curriculum with associated experimental presentation.
The generic subjects like physics, computer science and mathematics are offered as minor courses to aid in the process of vividly understanding the length and breadth of electronics. The compulsory value added courses and language classes equip students with good practical and communication skills.

Course Eligibility
A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained at the previous qualifying examination a minimum of:
55% marks in Electronics + PASS marks in Mathematics
OR
45% marks in Electronics + 50% marks in BO4 + PASS marks in Mathematics
Note:
• If the candidate has not studied Electronics in class XII, he / she needs to achieve the above-mentioned marks in Physics to apply for Electronics (H).
• Candidate passed in Business Mathematics is not eligible for Admission.

Beyond The Classroom
Upon reaching Synchro Electronics, Beleghata, Kolkata, students and faculty members were welcomed with astonishing hospitality by the head and staff of the institution. For the first part of the event they were invited to Bose Museum where the museum supervisor gave a detailed tour of the Museum while narrating the beautiful history of the place, its origin, Dr Bose’s working habits etc. All of which proved to be very inspirational to the students and the teachers present there.
