Considering that a variety of events like cultural programmes, seminars , debates, plays and other programmes are conducted throughout the year, the College houses an auditorium and numerous other performing areas which facilitate the students to carry on their activities smoothly and with ease. The College Auditorium is centrally air-conditioned with a fully sound proof set up and equipped with latest technology for all types of audio/video presentations. A number of small digital auditoriums are also available for seminars, meetings, workshops etc.

The College Building has fully functional branch of UCO Bank. The College also has ATM site of ICICI Bank and the Fee banking is done with Federal Bank which is located in the adjacent building of the College. The Gymkhana provides facilities for indoor games like Pool, Chess, Carom & Table Tennis. The Common Room is also available for the exclusive use of our girl students during during speacial time slots especially assigned for them. The services of a Physical Instructor are also available for our students between 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM. We have an annual sports meet and various tournaments are organised throughout the year, with our students representing the College at various inter-collegiate and state level competitions.

Not only do we acquire the newest textbooks and print resources doing a literature review and services offering literature review help for use by students in all our courses, be it Commerce, Science, Humanities, or Management and Information Technology, we also subscribe to 21 journals and periodicals and 10 newspapers.

Labs are integral part of an academic institution and in BHAWANIPUR we are strongly committed to providing world class infrastructure of labs so that we can create ideal environment for a student to understand the practical part of concepts. For this we have labs for various disciplines, fully equipped for academic support of students as well as for pursuing research.
The College has four state of the art Computer Laboratories with high configuration desktops and all requisite software. We also have a dedicated network printer in each lab for our students’ printing needs.

The Research and Publication Cell has been established as a part of the M. Com. Department and it will focus on the research and publication work to promote the research activities in the department. It is a unique attempt in order to encourage the young investigators/ researchers of the department as well as from other institutions of higher learning of national and international repute to conduct the research in the areas of business management, commerce, economics or social science. The publication has an important role in promotion of the research activities in different areas of the trade, industry, commerce and management.
To organize and sponsor the seminars, symposia, conferences of local, national and international levels on contemporary issues in commerce or any related areas.
To provide opportunities for faculty members and the students to publish their research papers, report, projects etc.
To organize the workshops on the contemporary and new areas of learning to provide technical training in the research methodology and proper guidance for the research on order to improve the research efficiency of different researchers.
To publish the research Journal of the department with ISSN at a regular frequency to facilitate different scholars, teachers and contributors for publishing their research articles.

Workshop On Research Methodology Course in Social Sciences

Department of M.Com, The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata is going to organize a ten days “Workshop on Research Methodology Course in Social Sciences” from.4th May 2015 to 10th May 2015 (tentative) This workshop is designed to impart knowledge on Research Methodology in the context of qualitative and quantitative research along-with training in advanced Statistical packages (including SPSS, E-Views) across the various fields of Social Sciences.
OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP
Preparation of research proposal. Basic training on conceiving a sound research Proposal.
Field work training.
Data Processing and analysis. Reading and interpreting data.
Preparation of the report – how to write the final research report, etc.
Skill on Imparting SPSS, E-Views
Writing Workshop to prepare the participants to publish papers in journals.

The BESC Journal of Commerce and Management is an annual research journal of the M. Com. Department and it will be published under the Research and Publication Cell. It would be published on yearly basis with the ISSN and focus will be made to make it an international referred research journal. The scope of the journal would be different areas of studies in the field of trade, commerce, industry and management. The journal is wide and available for diverse intellectual and educational pursuit from all corners of the society to enrich the learning experience of the group readers. It would publish high quality and original research papers, reports and articles to encourage the fundamental and applied research works. The publication has an important role in promotion of the research activities in different areas of the trade, industry, commerce and management.

Abstract: Following the cover page, there should be an ‘abstract’ page, that should contain the title of paper, the subtitle “Abstract” and a summary of the paper in single space, with double column not exceeding 150 words along with three to four key words. References should be cited in the style prescribed in the publication manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Guidelines).
