The journey to the coveted National Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 has begun. As part of this journey, the NEAS Roadshow – a curtain raiser to the main event – was held in the Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) on August 26th, 2017.
As India prepares to reap the demographic dividend, her corporate sector is in a constant state of flux. Young people are increasing moving into all echelons of the corporate world, with some even taking on brick and mortar behemoths with their innovative disruptions. It is to this driven force that Lakmé wants to reach out, and talk about Corporate Etiquette. Little wonder, they were in BESC.
International Management Institute Kolkata representatives, Sneha Chakravorty and Aparna Singh Roy (an alumnus of BESC) were in the campus on August 29th 2017, to conduct the initial round and identify the winners who will represent BESC in the forthcoming IMI Kolkata Fest.
The line-up of speakers for the event was impressive. The 400 odd students who had had gathered were eager to hear it from the horse’s mouth and heard it they did. For the topic of the Seminar was Event Management, something that all BESC students are either already famed for or is the chosen field where they seek to earn their fame and fortune.
“Performing Arts, Quiz, Fashion, International Affairs – The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) has it all. Like they say, something for everyone, except all those of us, who love accounts” had rued one student who was not content with the window dressing and wanted to highlight his love for the subject and the highlight the talent of his friends. That was a few years back, and proactive as the College is about meeting the aspirations of its students, the 1st Accounts Olympiad was organised last year, where a hundred students had attended.
A team of Quiz Masters from Derek O’Brien and Associates had come down to the Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) on August 26th 2017, to conduct a quizzing session of 5 rounds of 8 questions each. On a higher plane, their mission was to foster the love for quizzing in the campus and make the already popular activity gain firm footing among the students.
An Interactive session on Global Education Opportunities was organised by the Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) on the 30th of August, 2017. With falling boundaries and the shrinking world, overseas campuses are today beckoning the students of India like never before, often with hard to resist inducements.
Euphonious refers to something that is pleasing to the ear. In its Season II, this inter-college music fest organised by the Crescendo and the Utsav Collectives of the Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) on August 25th2017, proved that the naming was just right. For Euphonious was, literally, a series of pleasant, “euphonious” performances, each surpassing the other.
Fresh as opposed to tinned. Fresh as opposed to stale. Fresh as opposed to the wrinkled, the decaying. Fresh as in a newcomer, as in a fresher, a newbie.
And what good is a fresher if the fresh face is not appreciated; the talents that the breaths of pure, fresh air blows in, celebrated? Crisp, firm, unwilted, the Bhawanipr Education Society College (BESC) paid tribute to the faces that are destined rule the campus and the world. The event: the Calcutta Times, Oppo Fresh face ’17. The Date: June 6th, 2017. The venue: “Don’t act fresh, there is only one campus for events like these, BESC”!
The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) witnessed an event of a different type on the 10th of August, when close to a hundred and fifty odd students trooped in to the newly furbished Society Hall, ostensibly to indulge in their passion for Mathematics and select the college representatives for the next Maths Olympiad.
